This workshop is full of fun facts about animals and plants of Guåhan and the Northern Mariana Islands. Learn about the Mariana 8 Spot Butterfly, native birds that have returned and resisted extinction from the invasive brown tree snake and more! Learn how to support current Indigenous CHamoru movements to protect our sacred lands, waters and animal ancestors!

I’ve presented this workshop with VCU during API Heritage Month

A worksop series where we create ecosystems of care for ourselves and our families, inspired by precious marine mammal relatives. Our learning will range from female sperm whales' formations that protect their young, the matrilineage of orca whales to southern sea elephants' resting and cuddling practices. This series is an intergenerational space for caregivers, parents, expecting parents, future parents and grandparents to share our collective wisdom while cultivating models of interdependence, healing and joy modeled by animal ancestors. Some activities include: marine mammal trivia, nature meditations, group dialogue, whale love songs, dance and skill shares.

Sperm Whales are the loudest animals on the planet. Their clicks can reach levels of 230 decibels underwater. They can hear and communicate with one another across thousands of miles of ocean. Join me on an experimental sound journey through my ancestral waters of the Pacific, to Guahan and the depths of the Mariana Trench. In this workshop, we will listen to electronic whale soundscapes, whale love songs, and be inspired by whale formations, sounds, and communication through dance, poetry and movement.

As a non-binary parent, I created a train the trainer workshop to create welcoming spaces for queer, transgender and gender expansive families in parent groups. A space to deepen knowledge of gender inclusive language A place to learn best practices to affirm queer and trans family identities and experiences. Q&A of how to best implement these practices into parent groups.

I’ve partnered with Families Of Color Seattle to provide gender trainings to support their parent groups

As parents and survivors, asking for support for ourselves can be very vulnerable and difficult. In this workshop, we will collectively share stories about our journeys of asking for support: why it’s hard, what comes up for us in asking, how do we name our needs. We will hold space for dialogue and practice embodied and real-time skills to ask for support and teach loved ones how we want to be loved and cared for.

In this workshop series, participants will learn digital collage skills with user-friendly apps, our phones, poetry, physical materials, nature and our collective creativity!
